Standard 7 Night Beatles' 'Fan'venture Tour Itinerary 

 

Note: This is a Sample Tour Itinerary for our standard 7 Night 'Fan'venture Tour. Number of nights and itinerary may vary for special edition tours. The order in which events occur may vary by tour. Your itinerary, specific to  your tour, info on travel to the UK, our recommendations, advice, maps of local area and shops and other useful and cost saving information will be sent to you electronically, prior to your departure date,  in your copy of The Beatles Pilgrimage Tour 'Survival Guide'

London Day 1 - Arrival & Hotel Check In Day

Arrive London!!!

Use the instructions we provided to you for best & fastest way to get from your London Arrival  Airport to your hotel. If mobility is a concern, please contact Cheryl, the tour's booking & travel coordinator, for other airport transfer options.

Check into your London hotel.  Official Hotel Check In is 2pm.  The hotel is very accommodating to Beatle Tour guests and will allow you to check in early as availability permits.  If that is not an option, you can check your bags in the secure room at the hotel and take advantage of the fabulous location  and see a bit of London!!  Nearby sites include:  Buckingham Palace, where the changing of the Guard occurs almost daily, Explore Westminster Cathedral, Parliament Churchill Museum and much more!  Maps to attractions within walking distance from your hotel will be included in your 'Beatles Pilgrimage Tour Survival Guide!!!'

We will meet in hotel lobby area at 6:15pm for a quick meet and greet then off to our favorite Pub for a nice British Dinner that includes Hamburgers as well as Fish 'n Chips and Meat Pies. Let's get to know each other and discuss the next few days. Remember! Keep your  'Tour Calendar' with you as an easy reference to scheduled events.

Expected Walking:

Today, walking is only two short blocks from Hotel to Pub for dinner.

London Day 2 - Full Central London Coach Tour

Meet in Hotel Lobby at 8:50 am, ready, steady, go!

Enjoy your professional London Beatles Guide on a great day in The Beatles' Central London 

Abbey Road Crossing; Apple Headquarters at Savile Row [Rooftop Concert], Scotch of St. James, Indica Gallery, Marylebone Station, Bag O' Nails, NEMS London Office, The Palladium, MPL and and so much more along the way in Central London. Beatles places you want to see and more! A Great Beatles Day!!!

Time is allocated to get that great picture making the Abbey Road crossing. Listen to your host instructions to get the best shot. Of course, we allow time at the Abbey Rd Merchandise Shop... fans love it!

Expected Walking:

On level ground. One or two occurrences where we will walk roughly a 1/2 mile at a casual pace. There are Beatles locations in Central London that are not accessible by our mini coach that you must see.

Estimated End Time: 4:30 - 5:30 pm, depending on London traffic & construction conditions.

 Your Evenings in London are free.  Options in London include:

The London Hard Rock Cafe is about a 10 GBP cab fare from your hotel. Cabs hold up to 5 people. Whether you enjoy Hard Rocks or not, this London Hard Rock is special, it is the original where Clapton donated one of his guitars and Pete Townshend soon followed... the rest is history. If you wish to go the the Hard Rock for dinner, merchandise, tour of the memorabilia vault or all of these, your Beatles Tour host can assist.

Plan ahead... 'Wicked' and 'Hamilton'  are in theaters within 10 minutes walking distance of your hotel. Other London shows are nearby.

Buckingham Palace, St. James Park, The London Eye, Big Ben, Parliament and Westminster Abbey are all in walking distance [about 20 min walk one way or a short cab ride from your hotel.  Take this opportunity for some London sightseeing and exploring London dinner options along the way.

Take a two block walk to the Victoria Rail Station and see an real example of Victorian architecture in its splendor.

London Day 3 - Coach tour to the London Environs

Enjoy your professional London Beatles Guide on a great day in The Beatles' Film locations on the outskirts of London

We'll visit towns such as Chiswick & Twickenham. This is the area where most of the local filming of A Hard Days Night & Help took place as well as the Rain & Paperback Writer videos. The videos where George said 'You might say we invented MTV',  You will enjoy lunch at the pub used in 'A Hard Day’s Night’ and where, we recently discovered, the Hard Days Night cast party was held and Tony Bramwell told us the lads actually played here multiple times !!!

 

As time permits, we may include stops in Central London at other interesting and legendary London Rock sites and Beatles stops. 

Estimated End Time: 4:30 - 5:30 pm, depending on London traffic & construction conditions.

 

Expected walking today –

Approxiately 2500 - 3000 steps on level ground.  

There will be one or two occurrences where we will walk about 1/2 mile at a casual pace. This includes a walk through beautiful Chiswick Park

London Day 4 - London to Liverpool

with stop at Henley-on-Thames*

Private Deluxe Coach  from our London hotel to the Hard Days’ Night Hotel in Liverpool 

Two stops on this travel day...

  • We will make a very special stop at George’s home Friar Park in Henley-on-Thames. You will have a 45 minutes to an hour to stroll along this charming village and see the shops, cafes and the old church and Dusty Springfield's final resting place.

  • We are planning to make a second stop at Stratford-on-Avon, home of Wm. Shakespeare and to see a bit of England on our transportation day. It will about 1 1/2 hour stop. 

In Liverpool!! After you check in your room and have time to freshen up....

Evening Options in Liverpool

 

The Cavern, steps away from the HDN hotel on Mathew Street, typically has no cover charge, is always best bet for evening entertainment... Check your Survival Guide for 'What's on' each night at The Cavern. On Friday evenings, Usually, you it is free to enter The Cavern. Some nights there may be a nominally admission [3 - 5 GBPs]. On the weekend  'premium' band gigs may cost 10 - 15 GBPs admission.

Other options are The [famous] Grapes Pub where The Beatles drank between sets at The Cavern and still... as it was! The Cavern Pub and Thomas Rigby Pub [one block from hotel, a favorite old pub with lots of history & atmosphere] are other great pub options.

Liverpool Day 5 - The National Trust Tour, Liverpool Museum and Magical History Museum

Meet in Hotel Lobby at 9 am...

During the day, you will be schedule to take the guided tour of John and Paul's childhood homes presented by Britain's National Trust. Your Beatles Host will escort you to the tour pick up point where a National Trust coach driver will meet you and drive you to each home where you will be greeted by a  professional guide and see the homes where young John & Paul collaborated "eyeball to eyeball" on such hits as Love Me Do, I Saw Her Standing There, When I'm Sixty Four and One After 909 to name but a few.

Lunch Break at Albert Dock. Several options then regroup for...

We'll finish at the  Museum of Liverpool where you will find special Beatles and related exhibits.

Photo op at new Beatles Statues and, if time permits and optional... 'Ferry 'cross The Mersey' departs on the hour. Obtain ticket in Ferry Terminal and ready to board 10 minutes before the hour. First Ferry at 10am.. last at 4pm.

Optionally there is  time for the British Music Experience [BME--admission is not included in your tour package].  In lieu of the BME, you might choose to do  some souvenir shopping at Albert Dock & Mathew Street.  Please inform your host if you are interested in seeing the BME. 

 

Are you a vinylphile [Records]? Your tour host can provide a map to the local Vinyl [Record] shops... one of which occupies Bill Harry's Mersey Beat Magazine Office.  Just ask.

We will meet in the Hotel Lobby  around  7pm for The Beatles Ale Trail.   Our Liverpool Beatles Guide Jackie will accompany us to a few pubs made famous by The Beatles including The Philharmonic Pub, site of Paul McCartney's 'Carpool Karaoke' surprise gig in the summer of 2018.  You don't have to drink ale to enjoy this event!!

Expected walking:

For the Beatles Ale Trail... we will share a cab fare to the starting point [about a 8 GBP fare for up to 5 in a cab]. From there, we will make 2-3 pub stops and pass a few iconic Beatles locations, with Jackie providing fascinating Beatle history. Walking 'down hill' the distance may be close to a mile, however, feel free to grab a cab at any point back to the hotel if needed. The local pubs will welcome you warm. As consideration to the proprietors, we ask that you purchase a beverage at each pub, whether its a pint of ale,  a glass of wine or simply a soft drink.

Estimated End Time: The Beatles Ale Trail should end between 9 - 10pm

Expected Walking:

Perhaps a 1/2 mile  or 20 minute walk to National Trust pick up point from hotel and walk back.  Some fans may elect to take a cab back if they've walked a lot through the BME or the shops at Albert Dock. Total for day... maybe 2 - 3 miles.

Liverpool Day 6 - Full Day Tour of The Beatles' Liverpool with Jackie then meet Freda Kelly

Meet in Hotel Lobby at 9:20 am... 

 

Full day Liverpool coach tour with our guide Jackie. 

The day includes [but not limited to], Beatle Homes and Birthplaces, The Casbah Coffee Club*

 St. Peter's Church Hall, site of the fete the day Paul met John, Eleanor Rigby's grave site, Penny Lane and the Development Trust, Strawberry Field and more. 

*Note: History provided by Roag Best or an associate.  The Casbah Coffee Club offers wonderful & unique merchandise. If you are interested, please bring cash as credit cards are not accepted. T-Shirts avg about 20 GBPs, other goods available. Plan accordingly! 

Lunch at the Dovetail Towers ['the Dovey'] on Penny Lane !!! [included]

Estimated End Time: 4:30 5 pm, depending on London traffic & construction conditions.

5:30 - 6pm Meet Freda Kelly*

Subject to Freda's availability.  Past guests have included Beatle friends such as Tony Bramwell, Original Quarrymen Len Garry and Colin Hanton.

8pm Meet in lobby for group dinner at nearly Liverpool's favorite restaurant!!! [included]

Expected walking:

Approximately 2500 steps with narrow stairs, short ceilings & doorways. Extended standing [max. one hour] in some locations.

Liverpool Day 7 - The Beatles Story & Magical Mystery Museum...  

 

Meet in Hotel Lobby at 10 am...

 

Your host will accompany you to  the NEW Magical Mystery Museum on Mathew Street. Pete Best's brother Roag displays an amazing collection of Beatles memorabilia from Pete and his late father, Neil Aspinall, Beatles Road Manager and former Apple Corp. president.

 

Next, We'll walk or share a cab ride to The Beatles Story at Albert Dock. The exhibit is self-paced...so you will have "free time" when you're finished at the museum. By this time, you will be familiar with the area so... take this time to pick up those Beatles souvenirs you have been eyeing or stroll the shops of Liverpool. 

Suggested activities include Souvenir Shopping!!!, a Vinyl [Record] Stop walk; The British Music Experience, or a 50 minute scenic 'Ferry 'cross The Mersey' ride [cost 10 GBPs].

 

Meet in Hotel Lobby at 6pm... 'Good Bye' gathering in hotel bar [Bar Four]. Let's get a few last photo, exchange emails and be friends on Facebook.

Expected Walking:

The Magical History Museum is a 3 minute walk from hotel start point. From there to Beatles Story is a 20 minute casual walk [or, we may elect to share a cab ride there as a group]. From there and depending on your last day plans, you could walk another 1 - 2 miles... shopping or record hunting.

Liverpool Day 8 - Check Out Liverpool Hotel

Check out time at your Liverpool is usually 11am. Please confirm at the hotel desk.

If your return flight departs Manchester Airport, we will schedule car service for you to be picked up at the hotel at least 3 hours prior to your departure time. We will confirm the time with you the night before departure. This transportation service is included in your tour package.

If your plans call for another airport or travel destination, you have made arrangements, either independently or through our travel associate, to get to your next destination. In this case, the transportation service is not included in your tour package.
