The Beatles History: Liverpool Beatles Tour
On day four, Madd Dog Productions' Beatles Tour, boards a private deluxe coach and heads out from London to the Hard Days' Night Hotel in Liverpool. On the way, we stop for about an hour at George Harrison's home at Friar Park in Henley-on-Thames. The sites in this charming village include an ancient 13th-century church, and you'll have an opportunity to pay your respects at Dusty Springfield's grave. Of course, we must also make a shortstop to visit Stratford-on-Avon, the home of William Shakespeare.
The Beatles history picks up again once we're in Liverpool after you check into your room and get freshened up. You have options on the Liverpool Beatles Tour from going to a local nightclub to drinking up the Beatles history in the well-known Grapes Pub, where The Beatles drank in between sets at The Cavern before they became international superstars.
Madd Dog Productions' Liverpool Beatles Tour is filled with the Beatles history, including The National Trust Tour, The Beatles Story, Beatles Statues, the Liverpool Museum, and a guided tour of John and Paul's childhood homes. You'll even get to see the houses where young John and Paul collaborated on many of their hits, such as Love Me Do, I Saw Her Standing There, When I'm Sixty Four, and One After 909, just to name a few. Additionally, the Liverpool Museum is free and frequently hosts exhibits featuring the Beatles history.
Other highlights on the Liverpool Beatles Tour include:
Liverpool Beatles Museum on Mathew Street
Beatle homes and birthplaces
The Casbah Coffee Club
St. Peter's Church Hall, where Paul met John
Eleanor Rigby's gravesite
The Development Trust
Breakfast and Lunch at Strawberry Field
You'll find lots of photo ops on the Liverpool Beatles Tour, too. And if you want to do some music shopping, your tour guide will help with a map highlighting the local Vinyl [Record] shops, including one which houses Bill Harry's Mersey Beat Magazine.
