Tour Overview and Itinerary
All Tours now begin in London!
Note: This is a Sample Tour Itinerary. The order which events occur may differ by tour. Your confirmed itinerary, info on travel to the UK, our recommendations, advice, maps of local area and shops and other useful and cost saving information will be provided to you prior to your departure date in your copy of the Beatles Pilgrimage Survival Guide. The guide is sent to you as attachment to an email and a as a link to access via Smartphone on our cloud.
Sunday/Day 1 - Arrival Day London ! [some fans may have extended their stay in London and have arrive early!]
Upon arrival to London Airport, we will provide either Heathrow or Gatwick Express Tickets from airport to London bypassing heavy London traffic in as little as 20 minutes. [Private Car is available upon request].
Take advantage of an early arrival and explore the area on your own... you are very close to Buckingham Palace and changing of the Guard occurs almost daily [click to confirm]. Explore Westminster Cathedral, Parliament, Buckingham Palace, and more! Meet the rest of the group in the late afternoon and enjoy a walk to a nearby restaurant for a "Welcome to London" dinner. Maps to attractions in walking distance from your hotel will be included in your 'Beatles Pilgrimage Tour Survival Guide!!!'
We will meet about 4pm in the hotel lobby for a 'Meet and Greet' and walk around town. Arrive late? No problem! We'll meet at at 7pm for our 'Welcome' dinner party at a local establishment [a Great London Pub!!] and it's included in your tour package!!!
Monday/Day 2 - Central London Mini Coach Tour; Abbey Road; Savile Row, Indica Gallery and more! Great Beatles Day!!!
Fans love this half day coach tour where we will see The Beatles' Central London such as Asher home, Montagu St., Paul's current home are a few stops AND... today is your day to make the crossing at Abbey Road. Coordinate your photo with your host, we have a proven method to get the best shot possible!!!
In the afternoon, we take a leisurely walk (less than a mile) through the Soho district of London and experience London's tube system. Our walk will cover form where the roof top gig took place at Apple HQ through to Paul's current office which many cool stops along the ... when approaching Paul's office, get your camera ready as you never know!! We met him a few times over the years!
Your evening is free and you have your London tube pass!!! Go take in a West End show, enjoy an evening London Eye ride, or visit nearby pubs. We recommend dinner and walk around Convent Garden to Leicester Square.. the heart of London! Quick and easy to the [now experienced] tube rider. Your host will show you the way to most popular areas in London... and back.
Optionally, we invite you to join your host for dinner at the London Hard Rock. Please indicate in advance and we will book 'no wait' reservations. This meal is not included in your tour package. There are three set dinner price options priced in the 20 to 40 GBP range.
Tuesday/Day 3 - Coach tour to the London Environs and George's home Friar Park at Henley-on-Thames
Our full day coach tour to the London Environs takes us first to Chiswick Park that is just as it was when The Beatles filmed the Paperback Writer and Rain videos. As it was, expect a bit of casual walking through the park. You will be amazed to see it is 'as it was' the day of the video shoot. The tree used in the famous singles cover photo is still there!!! We'll have a pub lunch at in Twickenham, at the pub used during Ringo's 'deserter' scene in the movie 'A Hard Days Night'. We'll stop at a few other very cool movie locations that fans love to see. You will be amazed how many scenes in the movie were shot at the same place! Your guide is an information warehouse of rock and general London tidbits that will... well Rock You!
From there, we head to the English countryside to visit the lovely Henley-on-Thames and a photo op outside George's home, Friar Park. We'll spend an hour or so exploring this quaint village and its shops before our ride back to the city. Please be sure to stop by the church to pay your respect to Dusty Springfield, her last resting place.
On our return journey, we pass through a lovely hamlet town set in the beautiful British Countryside and a taste of England as it was. If time permits, we pass and may stop at the memorial to T-Rex's Marc Bolan and the location of his fatal car accident. His fans still bring fresh flowers.
Dinner plans by group or individuals is up to you during your last night in London.
Wednesday/Day 4 - Rail to Liverpool & 'Welcome to Liverpool' dinner, Beatles Ale Trail to historic pubs and meet Freda Kelly!
Wake up, fall out of bed, drag a comb across your head! This morning we will check out of our London hotel, transfer to the rail station, and enjoy the high speed train to Liverpool (about 2 hours). Once we settle into our hotel, we will allow time for you to visit the Liverpool One area, then meet for an early 'Welcome to Liverpool' dinner party.
After a rather delightful Liverpudlian meal... we will embark on the Beatles Ale Trail! and visit some of the most famous and notable Beatles pubs, hearing stories about their time in each often directly from the local that were there!!! The pub proprietor will welcome you and as a courtesy to them, please purchase a beverage in each pub. Soft drinks are available and beer is sold in pint & 1/2 pint glasses. This is a pleasant evening walk. Fans do have the option to share a short cab ride on the return.
Thursday/Day 5 - Full day Liverpool coach tour with our guide Jackie & in the evening, Live Music at The Cavern
Full Day coach of The Beatles' Liverpool with our Genuine Liverpudlian Beatles Guide, Jackie! Strawberry Field, Penny Lane, Beatles Homes & Schools, Casbah Coffee Club, St. Peter's Church and more! There are several stops and brief walks. We will break for lunch at Penny Lane's Dovey Towers and we will also enjoy the Penny Lane Development Trust.
Friday/Day 6 - Tour of John and Paul's childhood homes & [Very Cool!] Liverpool Museum & Souvenir/Memorabilia Shopping!!!
Today you will enjoy a visit to both Paul and John's childhood homes in the morning where you will hear the history from the curator at each home. The only way to get into the homes is with the National Trust Tour and we have your ticket!
Fans must see the new, larger-than-life bronze Beatles statues recently place near the Ferry pier, we'll take you there.
Ending at Albert Dock, we'll allow time for lunch and some shopping and walk over to the Liverpool Museum... it's an enjoyable hour of Liverpool history.
Saturday/Day 7 - The Beatles Story & Ferry 'cross The Mersey ride - Farewell dinner :(
The Beatles Story at Albert Dock is a very popular Beatles attraction. It is an interactive history of The Beatles in Liverpool and beyond. Great exhibits and you are welcome to spend as much time as you like. Albert Dock offers plenty of last minute souvenirs to finish up your shopping. We'll have a last dinner together as we say farewell to our new friends.
We'll then meet as a group an off on a one hour scenic 'Ferry 'cross The Mersey' ride... because you must! [Unless you... and the sea... don't agree!!!]
Sunday/Day 8 - Departure day for most. Private car to Manchester Airport or return rail to London!!!
Transfer to Manchester airport for departure. Your host will provide information ahead of time.
