We'll jump on a
train, just across the street from our hotel, for a one hour ride to
a town called Henley-on-Thames. We spend a few hours enjoying one of
the most beautiful hamlet in all of England. We'll pay our respects
to a Gardener that lived here by the name of George.
You will have time to enjoy this very beautiful town. For the bit of British tradition, there is a small tea shop on the river Thames that is absolutely wonderful for the soul [or sole - depending how much walking you have done]. A few ancient pubs are around the town too as well as some cafes and shops. Let's not forget to take a minute to respect one other British Invasion star that is buried in Henley... Due to time constraints some guests opt to use time in London other than going to Henley. As a result, we offer a self-guided. non-escorted tour package that provides you with all the information, maps & history you need to enjoy a day in the lovely town of Henley, at your own pace. Easy travel to and from. All private tours are self-paced tours. If group interest to go to Henley is high, your host will organize train fare at a group rate [normally about $20. with return] |

The London Hard Rock Cafe is the original. It opened as a place for rockers like Eric Clapton to have a drink. Eric gave the owner a guitar to hang on the wall , Pete Townsend followed and the rest is history. The memorabilia vault holds some of the finest pieces of rock history you will ever see. In this very
posh section of London are the sacred grounds of Abbey Road Studios.
The center of The Beatles' Music Universe. We'll follow Paul's
footsteps from his home to his daily workplace. The post office is
still there where Brian Epstein ran from studios to send off a good
news telegram to the boys in Hamburg. We'll stop for refreshments at
the The Beatles Coffee Shop and check out the hard to find original
abbey road merchandise.
